The laws of a country override any other laws. When I did my military training many years ago, our instructor told us that we could break any camp laws but not get caught. In almost all situations we tried to break laws but did get caught. The military laws superseded our family laws. Going home unless for close family death was impossible. Some young men did have five grandmothers who died. So, the instructors told us that if we could devise new excuses, passes to go home would be possible. Constantly new laws were written to counteract creative law-breaking.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

All humans have been born into the family of Adam. We are born with a sinful nature, “Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all people” We were all born into the family of Adam.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The word living being can mean a living soul, human body, or a self-life with a will and emotions. A creature that breath

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

It is often used in a spiritual or metaphorical sense, referring to the life-giving power of God, particularly through the Holy Spirit. This term emphasizes the transformative power of God to bring spiritual life to those who are spiritually dead.

The use of the words ‘give life’ or ‘life-giving’ in the New Testament reflects a Jewish understanding of God as the ultimate source of life. This is consistent with the Old Testament view of God as the Creator and Sustainer of life.

The day we believe In Jesus Christ and confess Him to be Lord we are Born again.

Our old man dies, and we are translated into the Kingdom of God. Resurrected into Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life.

It is not about you changing your life to become a better person. It is all about you dying to the old and becoming a brand-new person.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Romans 6:6-11 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:2 The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

For an airplane to be able to fly the lift and thrust must be more powerful than the weight and the drag on an aircraft.

By putting your hand outside of your car window while traveling at speed you can feel these forces at work.

Now Paul tells us of four laws that are at work in our lives to produce a righteous living
