GOAL ATTAINMENT

PART 5 OF 5

INTRODUCTION:

VISION IS A NECESSARY COMPONENT OF GOAL ATTAINMENT.

SPIRITUAL INSIGHT:

READ PHILIPPIANS 3:14. PAUL EXPRESSED HIS GOAL ATTAINMENT IN THIS VERSE.

AMPLIFIED BIBLE: “WHERE THERE IS NO VISION (NO REDEMPTIVE RELATIONS OF GOD), THE PEOPLE PERISH: BUT HE WHO KEEPS THE LAW (OF GOD, WHICH INCLUDES THAT OF MAN), BLESSED, HAPPY, FORTUNATE (AND ENVIABLE) IS HE.”

PROVERBS 29: 18 “WHERE (THERE IS) NO VISION, THE PEOPLE PERISH, BUT HE THAT KEEPETH THE LAW, HAPPY (IS) HE.” (KJV)

NEHEMIAH AND EZRA ARE EXCELLENT MODELS OF VISIONARIES. THE BABYLONIANS RELEASED THE JEWS FROM CAPTIVITY AND PERMITTED THEM TO RETURN TO JERUSALEM. THEY FOUND THE CITY IS DISREPAIR, PARTICULARLY THE TORN DOWN WALLS THAT ONCE SURROUNDED THE CITY. NEHEMIAH EFFECTIVELY REBUILDS THE WALLS AND EZRA RESTORED RELIGIOUS ORDER.

WRITER JOHN MAXWELL’S COMMENTS ON VISION:

VISION IS THE ABILITY TO SEE-AWARENESS

VISION IS THE FAITH TO BELIEVE-ATTITUDE

VISION IS THE COURAGE TO DO-ACTION

C. GEORGE BARNA DESCRIBES VISION FOR MINISTRY AS A REFLECTION OF WHAT GOD WANTS TO ACCOMPLISH THROUGH YOU TO BUILD HIS KINGDOM.

APPLICATION: BE A VISIONARY IN YOUR PERSONAL AND CHURCH LIFE!
