Summary: Picture # 14 in series: The 14 Candid Snapshots of the Maturing Christian found in the Gospel of John. This final picture in this series is a picture of the maturing Christian’s triumphal entry into Heaven with Jesus. This picture is set in the future.

Picture # 14: Our Triumphal entry with Jesus

(John 12:12-19; Revelation Chapters 19, 20, 21).

We are forever to be with the Lord as we serve, worship, fellowship, and reign.

Read First Thess. 4:14-18

Picture # 14 is set in the future.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus made His grand entrance into the holy city of Jerusalem.

This account is recorded in all 4 Gospels, which shows us the importance of this event.

The event we read in the Gospel of John focuses upon the crowds of people who have come to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of the Passover, which was a Jewish religious obligation.

Many Bible scholars estimate that the crowd of people grew to perhaps 120,000, and brought much conflict and tension to the political and religious leadership of the city.

When the Pharisees say “the world” has gone after Him, there is a double meaning.

The deep irony is that these words point to the fulfillment of Jesus’ primary mission to save the world through Him.

Now we see that the world is in some degree turning to Jesus.

To fully understand John 12:12-19, a person has to have a concept of the rapture.

The Triumphal Entry for most of us is indeed a picture of the rapture, because according to the text in Thessalonians, "the dead in Christ will rise first."

When Jesus rode the unbroken colt into Jerusalem, He was actually marking a day of Triumphant Entry for us.

Just as Christ rode into Jerusalem, we know that He is coming again.

And on that glorious day, those who trust in Him will be caught up in the air to join Him.

We won’t have any trouble joining Christ in the air, because in that glorious time, those who believe in Him will have glorified bodies, not subject to the physical limitations with which we are now bound here on earth.

This concludes the 14th Candid Snapshot of the maturing Christian, and this concludes the Public Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please continue reading John Chapter 13 in this series of Bible studies in the Gospel of John where you will find the beginning of the 3rd "P" in the Gospel of John: The Private Ministry of our Lord.
