INTRODUCTION:
God has a divine purpose for every believer, and that purpose is rooted in holiness. When we walk in our purpose, it should reflect God's holy nature and bring glory to His name. Holiness in our purpose means living out God's plan for our lives with integrity, righteousness, and obedience. We were created in Christ Jesus for good works, and these works should align with God's will, manifesting His holiness in all we do.
1. UNDERSTANDING OUR DIVINE PURPOSE
a) God's Plan for Our Lives
Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us that God knew us even before we were formed in the womb. His purpose for us is predestined.
b) The Calling to Holiness
God’s purpose for our lives is always tied to living holy lives, reflecting His character in all things (1 Peter 1:15-16).
c) Walking in the Good Works Prepared for Us
Ephesians 2:10 declares that we are His workmanship, created for good works which God prepared beforehand.
d) Living According to God’s Will
We must seek to understand and align with God’s perfect will for our lives, which leads to fulfillment and holiness.
e) Biblical Example: The Apostle Paul understood his divine calling and lived it out with dedication and holiness (Acts 9:15-16).
2. HOLINESS AS A MARK OF OUR PURPOSE
a) Reflecting God’s Holiness in Our Actions
Our purpose is to glorify God, and this is achieved by living in holiness (1 Corinthians 10:31).
b) Sanctification for Service
Romans 8:28 assures us that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This includes being sanctified for His service.
c) Holy Ambition and Motivation
Our ambition in life should be driven by God’s purposes, not worldly desires (Philippians 3:14).
d) Living with Integrity
Holiness in our purpose means living with integrity, where our actions match our faith (Titus 2:7).
e) Biblical Example: Jesus fulfilled His divine purpose on earth by living a life of holiness and fulfilling God’s will (John 4:34).
3. ALIGNING OUR GOALS WITH GOD’S PURPOSE
a) Seeking God’s Guidance for Our Purpose
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, acknowledging Him in all our ways.
b) God’s Purpose Takes Priority Over Personal Ambitions
Holiness in our purpose means putting God’s will above our own desires and ambitions (Matthew 6:33).
c) Living with an Eternal Perspective
Understanding that our purpose is for God’s glory and an eternal impact helps us live holy and focused lives (Colossians 3:23-24).
d) Obedience to the Divine Calling
To walk in God’s purpose, we must be obedient to His calling, even when it requires sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2).
e) Biblical Example: Esther’s willingness to risk her life for God’s purpose in saving the Jews exemplifies alignment with God’s plan (Esther 4:14-16).
4. PURSUING PURPOSE WITH HOLINESS AND EXCELLENCE
a) Striving for Excellence in All We Do
Colossians 3:23 calls us to do everything with excellence, as unto the Lord. Holiness is reflected in our pursuit of excellence in fulfilling our purpose.

a) Living to Honor God
Our ultimate purpose is to bring glory to God in all that we do (1 Corinthians 10:31).
