I want to focus on something in the Bible that God didn’t say. Two words repeatedly used in the Gospels that some would argue were not inspired by the Holy Spirit. They are a phrase that is a grammatical necessity. However, these two words precede what perhaps could be considered the most important, most powerful, most life changing words ever spoken in the history of mankind.

This grammatical necessity is simply “Jesus Said”. Jesus didn’t say “Jesus said” it was the writers of the Gospels that used this grammatical necessity. But when we read or hear the phrase “Jesus said” we can be sure that what is to follow will be worth listening to, we can be certain it will be, if received by faith, powerful and life changing.

Now Jesus said all the “Red Bits” of the Bible and I can’t talk about all of those in one night, but over time I want to focus on what Jesus said to seekers, His family, His Father, His Disciples, Devil and Demons, the religious. Because there is no partiality in the words of Jesus, what Jesus said to them is applicable to our lives and what Jesus said can be most the powerful life changing words you will hear.

Jesus told a story in Mark 4, about a farmer sowing seed. Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

People were there because Jesus was there, but they were not all hearing what Jesus was saying. It was not that they were hard of hearing; it was that they were hard of heart and so their spiritual ears were blocked.

The Disciples Jesus asked for an explanation, they could not fully understand what Jesus was saying, but they asked again what he was saying. If you’re not hearing Jesus, check your heart and ask Jesus to speak again.

Some people who come to hear what Jesus says hear it and let Satan steal it right away. “In one ear and out the other” Satan steals by “arguments” in the world that influence “mind sets” that say ‘the Bible is Out of date, not relevant, just words’, so many people believe this.

Some people who come to hear what Jesus has to say hear it, receive it, but let troubles choke it. Jesus was not being uncompassionate; Matthew 8:21-23 21Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

Jesus wants us to put our hands to the mission and not look back, fix our eyes on Him.

Some people who come to hear what Jesus has to say hear it, receive it, but let distraction make it fruitless, the Word need to be fed, watered for it to grow in our lives.

Some people who come to hear what Jesus has to say hear it, receive it, and let it produce a Harvest.

The powerfulness of what “Jesus said” is determined by how you receive it.

Jesus’ word may be just another religious leader, maybe words that have little value for you in a crisis; maybe there are more important things in life for you. Maybe you know, as Jesus said Matthew 4:4 ’Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ "

God’s word, what Jesus said is vital if we are to overcome Satan, avoid distraction, overcome pressure and persecution, if we are to produce a harvest.
