Even The High Places! Series

Ezekiel 36.1.3 – even the high places…

1 Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: 2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession: 3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

Judah had been defeated, and the enemy had seemingly won. They could say even the high places are ours.

What happens when we give up the high places?

1. We are laid desolate (v3){ shä•mām'}

a. By our being attacked.

b. By our being defeated (go it alone).

c. By our being deflowered (mired in the mess)

d. By our being depressed.

2. We are surrounded (v3){ shä•af'}

a. We feel the enemies grip (feeling all alone)

b. We feel crushed (no hope)

c. We feel hopeless (Elisha’s servant when they were surrounded)

d. We feel like a remnant (lost)

3. We have become a possession (v3){ mō•rä•shä'}

a. We are assimilated like them.

b. We become a residue of ourselves.

c. We begin to lay treasures here instead of in heaven.

4. We are slandered (v3)

a. By our being torn down (by gossip).

b. By our being judged (by Pharisees).

c. By our being a reproach (by not doing what we have been told to do)
