1 Corinthians 2:9 HEAVEN #2 5-7-11
Today I want to bring a few thoughts to do with HEAVEN, there’s a lot of people in the world that don’t believe there is a “God or a heaven or a hell”, they believe that when people die that that’s the end of all their existence. The only thing wrong with that is, the Bible says other wise, and of coarse these people don’t believe the Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, -----
Jude 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, --
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,--
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man*(never been supernaturally born again) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Ø Listen as I read today’s text found in 1 Corinthians 2:9 ~~ we’re thinking on Heaven today.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
This verse is not always viewed and applied as I want to apply it today.
All of us have heard many people’s ideas about what they thought heaven would be like, but our text verse as I want to apply it today says, (paraphrase) “no eye of any man has ever seen any object of beauty and splendor that can even come close to what heaven is going to look like.”
Neither has any ones ear ever heard a realistic explanation of the magnificents of this glorious place.
Neither has entered into the heart of man “THE THINGS”
These two words “the things” cover a vast number of different (THINGS) none of us have ever seen or even imagined, or heard of, or comprehended in our innermost being what God hath prepared for them that love him.
When we think on beautiful things or objects we naturally can not help but think of the sites and beautiful things that we see here on this earth, and rightly so, because we have never been to heaven, we’re going one day because we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is our Lord and Savior and by His grace we’re going, there’s nothing more that we can compare the beauties of heaven too because this is all we know any thing about, but as the Queen of Sheba said to King Solomon in
1 Kings 10: 4-7 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built, 5And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
6And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
7Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
So dear heart there has never yet been nor will there ever be here in this life a real and truthful explanation of what heaven will be like, and sinner friend if you miss heaven you have missed it all.
The apostle Paul tells us in 2 cor. 12:1-4 that he was caught up to the 3rd heaven, and he was not allowed to tell of what he saw.
1It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
We believe that Paul was actually stoned to death and that it was at this time that Paul found himself in Paradise, (3rd heaven) and that God raised him from the dead, simple because He still had much for Paul to do, Paul penned 14 books of the N.T.
