God cares enough for King Ahaziah to step in and show Himself real and reminding him that there is only one true God and He is in Israel.

Elijah is gone, God remains. Don't look for Elijah, look for the God of Elijah. God's presence and His power remains. Can God count on us to continue His work and proclaim His Word?

God responded to the prayer of an ungodly king because He saw the oppression of His people and came to their rescue. God is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love.

Jehoash showed little interest in what he was told to do. He was going through the motions but with little faith. He did not take God seriously or the Word of God seriously. Elisha was the one who showed faith in God.

God reveals Himself as the One true God who redeems Israel, warns them and finally judges them. Israel is called to worship the One and only God, and to show the nations that the Lord their God, the Lord is one. They failed.

Hezekiah prays and sees God as the One who is enthroned and rules over all kingdoms. He trusts God and sees the deliverance of God.

23. Too Little, Too Late

Mannaseh pushed Judah to the point of no return. Right at the end of his life, he experienced God's great grace and forgiveness when he repented. However it was too little, too late. The damage has been done. That's the legacy he left behind.

God continues to speak to the last four Kings of Judah prior to the fall of Jerusalem. God did not cease to speak to them, even though they are not willing to listen.
