To establish the truth, “by grace ye are saved” is not through faith only - but through “the obedience to the faith”- that is – “the gospel of the grace of God.”

To establish that when we were dead in trespasses and sins, God, because of His great love and mercy, wherewith He loved us: “Hath quickened us together with Christ and by grace we were saved through the faith.”
