The Book of 2 Peter opens up with a statement to indentify to the reader who is the author of the book. Peter uses the term "bond servant" thus implying that he, Peter is a slave to no man but by his own choice he has chosen to serve and summit to Jesus.

2. So Great A Salvation

Hebrews 2:1 states that we "must give more attention"; attention to "The message" of the Good News of Jesus Christ. This salvation is prophetic in the sense that the Old Testament prophets foretold of its coming in of the incarnate Jesus

4. Living A Life Of Holiness

The first 21 verses of 1 Peter could be summed this way (vs.3-12) living a life of Holiness and verses (vs.13-21) fear for God. Not a fear of bodily harm but a respect and concern as we struggle to live a life before the righteous God (1Pet 1:16)

5. Living Word

The "new birth" gives us a desire for the Word of God. Peter uses the analogy of a baby that is born into this world, from the moment of birth the baby has a hunger. When we are "born again" we have a hunger to know more about God.

6. "Living Stone" 1 Peter 2:4-10

Jesus said that a wise man will build upon the "rock" for solid foundation and the foolish man would build upon the "sand" and the foolish man house would not stand. We as "living stones" must build upon "Rock" for our spiritual house to stand.

Believers have been waiting for the return of Christ and that time is drawing near when God will send the Son to bring His children home. That return will not only Glorify God but it will reestablish God's dominion over all the earth.

Book of Acts is a record of the coming of the Holy Spirit, it records the great numbers of people coming to faith in Jesus Christ, and describes of the use of the term "Christian" and more. Peter is giving practical instruction in living as Christian.

Peter statement that our "hope" is not built upon the temporal, "not seeing" or the human senses are of the flesh but our love for Jesus exist in the spirit. the love the repentant heart has developed a love for Christ through the Spirit

Peter that because of the resurrection we have a "living hope" and that is our inheritance. He identifies (1) Reasons for the inheritance, (2) Reality of the inheritance, (3) Recipients of the Inheritance (4) The Receipt of the Inheritance .
