I am going to do a series based on Isaiah 53, and today I will be concentrating on the first verse; "Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" and concentrating on the first part; “Who has believed our message.”

We see what Jesus was like as a child, during his ministry, and at his execution, and how we should have a beautiful character

3. Isa 53: 3 Jesus Was Despised

In Theology, if something is duplicated in the Bible, we can assume that God is making an effort to get our attention on the issue. So it’s interesting that the word “despised” is repeated twice in this verse. So we can say that God wants us to know that Jesus was despised.
There is a general rule in Theology that if something is duplicated in the Bible, we can safely assume that God is making a determined effort to get our attention on the issue. 4. Jesus Was Rejected

Jesus was rejected by his family, by his local religious leaders, by Judas Iscariot, by Simon Peter, and then finally by God. So expect to be rejected if you share the Good News of Jesus Christ and him crucified.
The Old Testament word “hadel” is used in this verse that is transliterated as rejected, but this word has also been used in the Bible to mean forbearing. Jesus was a man who knew sorrow. You don’t need to look further than the bible to know this is true. The Old Testament Hebrew word that is used here is “makob”. This obviously, means sorrow but can also mean pain

Jesus Christ was acquainted with grief. Every day in Roman-occupied Judea there would have been executions, and crucifixions just as Jesus suffered. Grief would have been all around.
In the last post, I concentrated on Jesus being a man of sorrows, so this post will concentrate on Jesus being acquainted with grief. 7. Was Jesus Punished By God

The prophet Isaiah wrote that the suffering servant would suffer but that this suffering would be viewed by the people as punishment by God. Yes, Jesus suffered; yes, it was God’s will to have him stricken and afflicted but it was not some sort of punishment.

Jesus went to the cross, as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. He was stricken and afflicted.

10. God Says We Are All Like Sheep

God here is liking each of us to sheep. We are all like sheep, there are no exceptions. Even the most intelligent person is likened to a sheep.
In verses one to five, the focus was on the suffering servant, but here in verse six, the focus shifts ever so temporarily to all mankind. 11. Jesus Faced Judgment In Front Of Pontius Pilate

Jesus was judged by Pilate and was taken away and died on the cross at Golgotha. Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent yet he substituted the innocent man, Jesus, for the guilty robber and murderer, Barabbas.
