Here in chapter 11: Paul was urging the Hebrew believers not to fall back into Judaism, their old way of religion, and to continue in the Christian faith.

Joseph is the best type of Christ personified in the Bible, he suffered at the hands of his brethren, he marries a gentile wife, later saves his people, a wise ruler.

The 1st three verses leads into all of Gods creation, which many bible believers believe includes a "GAP" - however I am not among that camp as you'll see. This chapter is called by many "the hall of faith" chapter, so let us read and study together.

5. Faith Of Able

In this study we'll notice what kind of faith God recognizes, both Able and Cain had been told by their parents Adam and Eve the only kind of sacrifice that God would except, Cain is a picture of religious people trying to get to heaven by WORKS.

6. Enoch Is A Type Of The True Church, Enoch Walked With God, He Was Raptured.

God was pleased with Enoch's walk of faith with Him, God removed him from the wicked world alive; Abel, Enoch, and Noah and family are referred to as ANTIDELUVEIONS, that is, they lived before the flood.

Faith is the solid, unshakable confidence in God which is built upon the assurance that He will be faithful to His promises.

11. The Faith Of Noah

Noah or no one else had ever seen or heard of rain thus far, but Noah believed that it surely would because God said so, he was a witness to one and all as he preached and warned for 120 years, today we're preaching to the lost, but most don't heed it.

The linage of our Lord Jesus goes all the way back to Abraham. Matt. 1: I The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. As we study Abraham we see that his faith became stronger and stronger.

14. Isaac's Act Of Faith Was Total Belief That What-Ever God Says Is True.

Isaac pronounced a blessing on both sons to do with things to come. --- This was done by faith in God Who had revealed these things to him; Isaac believed fully that God would accomplish all that was here prophesied.

These all died in faith - it seems that this is referring to Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob and their immediate descendants. ~~ Abel and Noah also died in faith, but the “promises” were not particularly entrusted to them.

Abraham was called father by more nations than just the Israelis. From Abraham came Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Sarah thought that she was now to old to have a son so she told Abraham to have a son by her Egyptian hand maid Hagar which was a bad mistake, eventually God fulfilled His promise to Abraham and he did have a son by Sarah, his name was Isaac.

Did Abraham fully obey Gods command to leave his kindred? people have different opinions about this, but as we get into the study I think we'll have to agree, that no he did not.

By this time Abraham had strong faith, even though he had never heard of any one being raised from the dead he believed God could and would do that very thing, Abraham fully intended to slay Isaac, but God provided a substitute, Jesus was our Substitute.
