1. The Importance Of Being Paul
Contributed on Sep 16, 2008
God will use your past history, good, bad and even what you see as irrelevant to further the Gospel in your life today.
The Apostle Paul has been accused of not being the real thing. Paul is being accused of not being authentic, he is accused of being a slick salesman rather than a true disciple. Is Paul reliable? Is Paul authentic? Are his writings to be taken seriously? Can we trust Paul and his understanding of ...read more

2. The Unity Of One Gospel
Contributed on Sep 22, 2008
The Gospel unifies people of all nations, races, ethnicity, culture, education and economic status. The Gospel is over culture, therefore it can be adapted to culture.
Is Christianity for everyone? Is it available to everyone? How much does a person need to be removed from their culture to become a Christian? This issue about the Gospel and culture is not new. Christians have struggled with the Gospel and the effects of culture since the very beginning. Today ...read more

3. Defeat Sin Now!
Contributed on Sep 29, 2008
Have a sin you cannot overcome? Stop trying to defeat sin. The root cause of our sin is our heart. Deal with the heart, deal with the sin.
Try as she will, Karen could not overcome a certain sin. She knew it was wrong, she knew it hurt others, she knew it hurt her reputation, but it was as if she turned around, and there is was that sin again. 4. Promises, Promises
Contributed on Oct 16, 2008
God never changes and God keeps His promises. We come to faith through the promise as people of old came to faith through the promise --- and the promise is Jesus Christ.
While I was waiting for my coffee I struck up a conversation with a college age woman about Christianity. It turns out that she had grown up in the church and had some great memories of the church…but as she grew older she had lost interest in church. She cited various issues in the church that she ...read more

5. Enslaved No More
Contributed on Oct 20, 2008
We too were enslaved once. We too were held down by the bonds of sin, and yes, we can remain in slavery on account of our ignorance. We are no longer slaves, we are now in fact sons, entitled to the full rights of an heir.
William Knibb sailed for Jamaica in November of 1824. He traveled to replace his missionary brother Thomas, who had died just a few months before his departure from England. His school in Jamaica dedicated to the children of slaves prospered. Slaves flocked from the sugarcane fields every night ...read more

6. Are You My Mommy?
Contributed on Oct 27, 2008
If we come to salvation by faith alone then it follows that we grow in Christ by faith also….not by works. I don’t grow in my faith by being good, I grow in my faith by being faithful.
When you think of a solid mature Christian, what kind of a person do you think of? When you think of a solid mature Christian, what kind of a person do you think of? Let’ take a poll. If your answer is one way or another is, “A solid mature Christian is a good person” please, raise your hand. ...read more

7. By Faith, Through The Spirit, In Love
Contributed on Nov 4, 2008
We are to live by faith. Paul tells us how, through the Holy Spirit.
Last week we saw that God does not call us to be good people, God calls us to be faithful people. We saw that, not only do we come to know Christ by faith, but we also grow spiritually in Christ by faith By faith we come to know Jesus Christ, by faith we grow in Jesus Christ. We do not grow ...read more

8. How To Apply The Fruit Of The Spirit
Contributed on Nov 18, 2008
Practical application of the Fruit of the Spirit. Stop living by what comes naturally to you, start living by what comes unnaturally, Paul calls this, Life in the Spirit.
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” When we lived in San Antonio I had a vegetable garden out back. I grew various types of vegetables, but the plants that always did the best were pepper plants. Now I didn’t have a lot of room for a garden, so a crammed ...read more
