Jesus Christ is central in our faith. The Old Testament looks forward to Jesus Christ. It has an attitude of anticipation. In the New Testament the really big claim is for the supreme authority of Jesus Christ.

We want to look at the Holy Spirit in context to our overall Biblical study of God. We keep in mind that Holy, creator God is One. We also keep in mind that there is one God in three-person, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

When we think of salvation we generally think of new birth in Christ, but there is more. We are saved from sin in regeneration, Salvation past. We are saved from the power of sin in sanctification, salvation present We are saved from the presence of sin in glorification, salvation future.

When you read the word church in your English Bible it is a translation of the Greek word ekklesia. The literal meaning is those who are called out. The general use in Greek was to express the idea of an assembly.

Baptism is identification with Christ. Baptism allows the believer in Christ to openly identify with Christ who died, was buried and who rose again on his behalf. It is a public testimony to say I have identified with Christ. I will live for Christ.
