[361]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – BETWEEN GOD AND US
The poem has an unusual rhyme scheme, not always easy to write. This poem deals with the Christian’s position before a holy God, but at the same time, a God of love. It covers many aspects of the Christian’s standing, salvation and life.
We could say the poem is the Christian’s profession and testimony. So many verses spring to mind when the poem is read. I will give a few and this will be a shorter introduction.
The title “Between God and Us” does not mean there is some intrusion or hindrance between God and me/us, but rather, there is a connection or a relationship between God and me/us.
{{1 Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, BUT WITH PRECIOUS BLOOD, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless - the blood of Christ.”}}
{{Romans 6:4 “we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in NEWNESS OF LIFE,”}}

BETWEEN GOD AND US
Yes, Christ redeemed me by His precious blood;
I’m included in the Bride.
His joy and peace surrounded me like a flood.
In His Body, I’m inside.
His sacrifice has claimed me through His love,
Now in His home to reside,
Eternally secure with Him above,
In peace and joy to abide.
Grace took me from filth and mud,
And sat me near the Lord’s side.

Come to the Lord and look into His face.
Study each dearest aspect,
So that in that holy life you can trace
Ev’rything that is perfect.
In purity of love, He dispensed grace;
No sinner did he reject –
Those who recognised their own sinful place,
Those He caused to stand erect.
In newness of life they will run their race,
‘Till with their Lord they connect.

Lord Jesus, I love you for what’s procured,
So to You, I can have access.
The cross with its pain where Jesus endured
Is comfort in my distress.
Salvation’s gain was for us secured,
So what can our tongues express?
Now through God’s grace our faith has matured,
For God’s Spirit we possess.
The Lamb’s horrible death has ensued
The praise and joy we confess.

Unto God Almighty be highest praise.
His love brought us to the light.
As grateful ones, our worship we will raise,
And dwell in heaven’s delight.
Compassion lifted us from Satan’s maze
To give us heavenly sight.
The horrors of darkness are Satan’s haze.
Our way, the Lord has made bright.
With wonders great, His glory He displays.
To God be honour and might.
