[356]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – YOU, O LORD, ARE WONDERFUL
This is a praise poem for the worthy Lord. It is descriptive with many titles and positions the Lord holds in our sight and mentioned in our bibles. There are 10 of these alone in the last stanza. We ought to meditate on the Lord and look at His Names and Titles and think of their relationship to us. Praise the Lord for His worthiness.
One exercise is to find where in scripture each one is mentioned. There are around 25 Names and Titles in this poem I think, perhaps more.
I will give scripture verses for two not mentioned in the poem –
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD ? {{John 9:5 “While I am in the world, I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.”}}
{{John 8:12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them saying, “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. He who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”}}
THE CREATOR ? {{John 1:3 “All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”}}
{{Colossians 1:15-17 “He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation, for by Him ALL THINGS WERE CREATED, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created by Him and for Him, and He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”}}

YOU, O LORD, ARE WONDERFUL
You are the altogether lovely One;
The Lamb of God, Belovéd Son!
The Fairest of ten-thousand: - praises rise;
Ascended Lord, no more He dies.
=================
Redeemer of a countless host of souls -
The ones His mercy now enfolds.
Your tender-hearted love, dear Lord, was strong.
It is the theme of heaven’s throng. (song)
=================
You are the King of kings and Lord of lords;
The coming Judge who’ll melt men’s swords.
Good Shepherd of His sheep, His pasture feeds;
Almighty God who knows their needs.
=================
You are the Mighty God and Wonderful.
True Vine You are, and Merciful.
The Great High Priest in whom we do confide;
The coming Bridegroom of His Bride.
=================
The Way, the Truth, the Life, and Counsellor,
Our Mediator and the Door.
You are the Prince of Peace, Exalted One!
The risen Christ! O worthy Son!
