[354]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – YOU ARE ALTOGETHER THE LOVELY ONE
This is a devotional poem, one of praise and worship. I have deliberately tried to use many descriptions of the blessed Lord, such as My Comforter, great Shepherd, wonderful Lord, and you will see others.
In the third stanza there is a line – “There sits the Ancient of Days with the bow.” This is connected with {{Revelation 4:2-3 “Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne and He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne like an emerald in appearance.”}}
There is not much more I will say about this poem. Treat it as a poem of adoration, and reflection.

YOU ARE ALTOGETHER THE LOVELY ONE
Glory and honour and power and praise
Be to our Saviour, our wonderful Lord.
Christ is the One whose majesty we raise;
Glory to Jesus in heaven adored.

King of the ages in light magnified -
Divine magnificence of God the Son;
The risen Christ in heaven glorified,
After the work of atonement was done.

Love and grace and peace from heaven flow.
God’s throne rules from eternal ages past.
There sits the Ancient of Days with the bow.
His kingdom’s great increase will always last.

Divine Creator of the universe
Is Jesus Christ; great Shepherd of the sheep;
Our Lord who redeemed us from the curse
Which caused Him in Gethsemane to weep.

Worthy, worthy is the glorious Lamb,
Worshipped in heaven; adored in my heart.
My dear Saviour Lord, take me as I am.
From Your presence I will never depart.

And when my human makeup starts to fear,
O Mighty God, my Refuge, it’s to You
My Comforter and Great High Priest - draw near,
And under Your wings, my Lord, renew.
