[347]. POEM MESSAGE - WISDOM OF THIS WORLD IS FOOLISHNESS WITH GOD

There is a huge line of division between God and man; between God’s wisdom and man’s wisdom.

Man is dominated by a sinful, fallen nature and his associated human wisdom is absolutely flawed. It is flawed so much that it produces myths and imaginations as facts, such as The Theory of Evolution, and that Australian Aborigines have been in Australia for 65 thousand years, but produced nothing but a spear and a boomerang.

The wisdom of man apart from God, has produced humanism as the over-riding principle that governs all decision making and philosophical conclusions. The worst of it is seen in Universities where professors and lecturers are puffed up with self-importance and pride and an arrogance of presumed knowledge.

So too, in Government institutions and academia, humanism runs rampant as we see legislation promoting homosexuality and all WOKE matters and climate change and many distortions and nonsense. Paul wrote truthfully about this – {{Romans 1:21-22 “Even though they knew God, they did not honour Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.”}}

They rejected even the notion of God so He gave them over to their own stupid minds to plan their own collapse and destruction. The term in Romans 1 used three times is “God gave them over” which means in effect that God said, “Go your own way.” Man has gone his own way and look today at the mess facing the world. Men and women in Government employ, and bureaucrats, and Public Servants who think they are important and above others, are fools.

The poem states a great contrast between the first and last stanzas, the first being the world divorced from God, and the last being the redeemed of God who know His wisdom.

In reading or speaking this poem, you must put the emphasis on the first word in every second line starting with the first. For example – (emphasis on the capitalised word) -

WHAT this world holds very dear

As man’s security,

DOES not bring the Christian cheer -

Mere man’s obscurity.

True wisdom rests only with God but man has usurped it and turned it into foolishness.

=========================================================

WISDOM OF THIS WORLD IS FOOLISHNESS WITH GOD

Evil overrides the good

In our society.

Decency’s not understood,

Nor is God’s piety.

Men pursue their selfish aims

In disregard of facts.

Ignorance refutes God’s claims -

They script their self-willed acts.

===============

Humanism is the king -

In this world, reigns supreme.

Men’s own praises, each does sing -

Chant evolution’s theme.

This world’s wisdom makes its boast

To place man on the throne.

Worldlings wise who know the most

Just glorify their own.

===============

Men’s dark hearts that man will toast

Are hard as quartz-like stone.

Their vain works will gain their boast,

Done in their strength alone. (pride)

When God’s relegated far,

By man’s sufficiency,

Doors to darkness stand ajar;

Howl sin’s deficiency.

===============

Christians know a wisdom true

Transcending earth’s vain claims.

Mostly are their numbers few

Though God knows all their names.

Wisdom has been granted them -

God’s special gift of love.

Knowledge all, and wisdom stem

Through Jesus Christ above.

===============

What this world holds very dear

As man’s security,

Does not bring the Christian cheer -

Mere man’s obscurity.

What is counted foolishness

In mankind’s sight below,

Christians seek with eagerness

And bask in wisdom’s glow.

===============

Evil’s conquered by the good

In Christ’s society.

Decency is understood -

So is God’s piety.

They pursue their selfless aims

According to God’s facts.

Wisdom true, confirms God’s claims.

They love to know His acts.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish FOOLISHNESS; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? HATH NOT GOD MADE FOOLISH THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling- block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD, AND THE WISDOM OF GOD. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” KJV. (1 Corinthians 1:18-25 ).
