[333]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JESUS CHRIST?
This poem is a challenge to the non-committed soul. It is a mix of explanation, preaching and challenge. What do you really think of Jesus Christ? Who is He? Where do you stand in relationship to this fact?
{{Matthew 16:13-15 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He began asking His disciples saying, “WHO DO PEOPLE SAY THAT THE SON OF MAN IS?” and they said, “Some say John the Baptist, and others, Elijah, but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “BUT WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?”}}
That question is so vital that your eternal future depends on it. A person’s options in this matter are –
(a). Mock any thought of Christianity.
(b). Listen, but ignore what is said.
(c). Promise you’ll do something about it but move away to get away from the challenge.
(d). Find an excuse to make no commitment. The world is full of that.
(e). Come in repentance to the Lord and take Him into your life as your personal Saviour.
This poem sets out the gospel. I once read it to an audience as a challenge. It sets out the argument for why a person must not neglect the message of Christ.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JESUS CHRIST?
In Christ’s ministry people sealed their own fate and went to hell – {{John 5:40 “and you are unwilling to come to Me that you may have life.”}}
{{John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”}}
I hope you can use this poem for outreach, or just for meditation. God bless those who read or hear. We should think more of Jesus Christ and let the meditations be rich for us.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JESUS CHRIST?
In the display on history’s face,
Does Jesus Christ then own a place?
Is He some myth? Some legend’s name?
Some William Tell’s false history’s claim?
A figment of a model man,
His attributes to heed where can?
Was He just One who made a choice,
To tour the land with preaching voice?
Some then, would paint Him as a hoax,
Or use Him as the butt of jokes.
Then Him, would some just disregard,
And say His teachings are too hard.
The Christ, still more, choose to dismiss,
Then live in ignorance or bliss.
For do they rightly judge the facts
The Gospels group as Jesus’ acts?
======================
But what think you of Jesus Christ?
Your values - how are they then priced?
Do you count Christ of little worth -
The One who came through virgin birth?
Have you ignored His loving pleas;
Before Him, fallen on your knees?
Or treat Him just with plain neglect,
And any thought of Him, deflect. (reject)
“Then what think you of Christ?” we ask.
That’s not such a difficult task?
======================
Acclaim His praise? Yes, we do that,
Because our faith is based on fact.
We know the full reality
Of Christ indwelling ones like me.
======================
The Saviour came down from above,
As demonstration of His love.
He lived His life to show God’s grace,
And spoke to mankind face to face.
He healed the sick, the blind, the lame;
Received all those who to Him came.
But more than that, He taught them this:-
A fact that we must not dismiss,
That all were born in sinful state,
And cannot thus to God relate.
So there must be another birth,
That does not spring from sinful earth.
It has its origins above,
The centre found in God’s deep love.
To Nicodemus it was said,
That night, when he to Christ was led,
“God’s kingdom, if you want to gain,
Would mean you must be born again.”
======================
The problem that we all must face,
Is common to the human race.
Our sins have cut us off from God,
And brought us under death’s sad rod.
======================
The way to God has now been paved,
And journey there, the ones He’s saved.
Christ gave His life that we might live,
So then to Him, your life must give.
======================
That brings us back again to ask,
If in your heart, there is a spark
That calls you to the Saviour’s side,
Who for your sins, was crucified.
And what do you now think of Christ?
Is still His calling too high priced?
Or do you realise, as we do,
And now His love, you can construe?
Come, put your faith in Christ the Lord:
He is the One in heav’n adored,
And can be too, this very day,
The One who in your life will stay.
======================
And so, what think you each of Christ?
Your life He counted highly priced.
Is it too much to ask of you
To reciprocate love so true!
