[291]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – THE STAMP ON OUR LIVES AS CHRISTIANS
This poem is set out with three sets of three making 9 stanzas. The final line in the stanza marks what set it is in.
The title means the ownership of our lives by God, similar to the wax seal that used to be applied in days gone by. {{2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, WHO ALSO SEALED US and gave us the Spirit in our hearts AS A PLEDGE.”}}
The poem covers living here as Christians, and the hope we aspire to later on when we leave. It is a practical poem. I wanted it to be an encouragement to all who read it. Please consider its message carefully as in these closing days there must be a stronger reality of spiritual things.
{{Romans 14:7-9 “Not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself, for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore WHETHER WE LIVE OR DIE, WE ARE THE LORD’S, for to this end Christ died and lived again that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”}}
I will leave it to you to see the main theme in each of the three sets of three. The poem was inspired by the opening couplet that I wrote down once in the past and found again –
Here today and gone tomorrow;
Free from sin and earthly sorrow.
God bless you all.

THE STAMP ON OUR LIVES AS CHRISTIANS
Here today and gone tomorrow;
Free from sin and earthly sorrow.
From this earth, we’ll nothing borrow.
The Lord is our sufficiency.
===================
On this earth we will have trouble.
Sin’s effects will sometimes double.
We all live with earthly rubble.
The Lord is our sufficiency.
===================
Wickedness will leave its footprint.
Satan’s drafted plan – his blueprint;
Evil wants on us its imprint.
The Lord is our sufficiency.
===================
-------------------------------------------------
Faithful for God we must remain.
Here on earth we shun sin’s domain.
Only what’s of God we retain.
Jesus Christ is our crown and joy.
===================
Not on ourselves do we depend.
Jesus Christ we must not offend.
To godly things we need attend.
Jesus Christ is our crown and joy.
===================
All holy scripture we embrace.
Don’t let your life be a disgrace.
Don’t let the frost, your love embrace.
Jesus Christ is our crown and joy.
===================
-------------------------------------------------
Horizon light beacons brightly.
Faith is what we must hold tightly.
Heaven’s outlook walks us rightly.
God is calling us home to Him.
===================
Lay aside each worthless object.
Travel light and burdens reject.
Heaven’s glory you must reflect.
God is calling us home to Him.
===================
From this world’s system, we’ll depart.
Life in heaven, God will impart.
Faith holds to this, your rampart!
God is calling us home to Him.
