[229]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - REDEDICATION BASED ON 1 CORINTHIANS 5:7
This poem is a penitent’s response to sin in his/her life. I think a lot of us would know David’s prayer and confession in Psalm 51.
Christians are not sinless people and the people who have a holiness teaching, and carry it too far, believe in a sinless perfection on earth. I think this verse speaks about such a silly position. We never shed ourselves of the sinful nature. {{Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, AND THE SIN WHICH SO EASILY ENTANGLES US, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”}}
Do not ostracise a brother or sister who has been caught up by a sin – {{Galatians 6:1 “Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, RESTORE SUCH A ONE in a spirit of gentleness, each one looking to yourself, LEST YOU TOO BE TEMPTED.”}}
For a Christian who has fallen into sin, the bible makes clear the process. The conviction of the Holy Spirit is essential regarding that sin. Then there is confession, repentance and the need for forgiveness. The Lord will ALWAYS restore a genuinely repentant soul. One of the most precious pair of verses is this one – {{1 John 1:8-9 “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND RIGHTEOUS TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”}}
This is a poem of confession and repentance. May the Lord be tender-hearted to His children gone astray. The title mentions {{1 Corinthians 5:7 “CLEAN OUT THE OLD LEAVEN that you may be A NEW LUMP, JUST AS YOU ARE IN FACT UNLEAVENED, for Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.”}}. Leaven is ALWAYS evil in the bible, NEVER once good. The poem is based on the verse from 1 Corinthians 5:7.
I will not say any more but let the poem speak for itself. God bless you all.

REDEDICATION BASED ON 1 CORINTHIANS 5:7
Make me a new unleavened lump of dough,
Unhindered, so the grace of God can flow,
And sin be judged and put away.
Let purity be there each day.
=======================
The temple of the Spirit must be clean (Your temple)
Where every trace of sin you seek and glean.
Allow the Lord your life to fill,
Self will confined, and striving still.
=======================
Ashamed you’ll find yourself before His face
If sin intrudes and wrong things you embrace.
Confess those wicked, worthless deeds,
If choked you be with tares and weeds.
=======================
No wickedness or malice must be named,
No old life fleshly acts to make ashamed.
Sincerity and truth now own
And celebrate the feast as shown.
