[216]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - PLACE THE LORD ALWAYS IN YOUR FOCUS
Placing the Lord always in your focus means having Him as THE priority in your life. So often we ask Jesus to share our priorities but it must not be like that. We have many priorities over our lifetimes.
Sometimes work must seemingly take temporary priority or a family issue, but whatever it is, the Lord Jesus Christ must have THE permanent number 1 priority. In that way the Lord is always in our focus which is what the poem is about.
{{Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you,"}}
{{Matthew 22:37 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."}}
Because this poem uses a 5-7-5-7 metre then the lines are short and to the point. In a strange way of saying it, the lines are like rifle fire “tat tat tat tat tat” etc. Most of the statements are short and to the point. They are important ones. Christian doctrine and living are all in the words of this poem.
Our time on earth is short. When you are 20 or 30 you think of people in their 80s and say, “They are really old,” but when you are in your 80s, you look back and say, “Where have all the years gone?” I am in my 80s.
The title – “PLACE The Lord Always in Your Focus” indicates this is a conscious action on your part to do that. You comply or decline. Every true believer in the Lord will always comply. I hope the poem helps you.
{{Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME. The life I now live in the body, I LIVE BY FAITH in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”}}
===============================================================
PLACE THE LORD ALWAYS IN YOUR FOCUS
I will shout and sing
Because of joy for my King.
To Him will be praise
Throughout heaven’s endless days.
Jesus Christ enthroned –
Those redeemed by blood atoned.
=====================
Those who claim His name
Lift their voices to proclaim
Glory to their Lord;
Who to heaven have been called.
Jesus precious One,
Mighty God, eternal Son!
=====================
Saved from sin’s foul end,
Time with Jesus want to spend.
Brought into the light;
Now priorities set right.
Show what Calv’ry meant
You, the shy and reticent.
=====================
Saints, exalt the Lord!
All join in one accord.
Christ did all things well.
Atoning work you need tell.
Send the message far;
Spread the word! Obliged we are!
=====================
Honour, thanks and praise –
Be alive, and your thoughts raise;
Join together now;
In the Saviour’s presence, bow.
Make your faith sturdy,
For no one else is worthy.
=====================
Lots of distractions
To draw from true attractions.
Now be attracted -
By Jesus, be impacted.
Live life at His feet;
There, His greatness you will meet.
=====================
Worship with your heart,
And your mind too has its part.
You were saved from hell -
Now let your life that fact tell.
Jesus is shut out
But show them you have no doubt.
=====================
It’s the greatest thing
To bring worship to the King.
Jesus died for you.
Pour out to Him what is due.
God’s blessings descend;
His mercies will never end.
