[125]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – HE’S RISEN – EASTER POEM FOR RESURRECTION

This poem is an Easter poem featuring the Resurrection. There are 7 stanzas and the first line in each gives the theme of the stanza. The first one is, “He is risen from the dead.” That must be first for all the other themes follow after that.

The despondent disciples thought their world had ended when the Lord was crucified. Even at the first mention of Christ rising, they were skeptical. {{“And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.”}}.

The angels’ message to the women is one that reverberated through the annals of faith for all generations – {{Luke 24:5-6 and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? HE IS NOT HERE, BUT HE HAS RISEN. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee.”}}

The resurrected Christ meant death was defeated and that spiritual life is available for all. The resurrection is momentous for Paul explained the importance of it. {{1 Corinthians 15:17-19 “AND IF CHRIST HAS NOT BEEN RAISED, YOUR FAITH IS WORTHLESS. You are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied,”}}

Stanza 6 mentions the first fruits. {{1 Corinthians 15:20 “but now Christ has been raised from the dead, THE FIRST FRUITS of those who are asleep.”}}

HE’S RISEN – EASTER POEM FOR RESURRECTION

He’s risen from the dead. He is not here.

O come and see the place where He once lay.

Except for cloths of burial in there,

The tomb remained quite vacant on display.

================================

He’s risen now in pow’r. Angels confide.

He said He had authority to take

His life again, which once He’d laid aside -

Through Spirit power by which death must quake.

================================

He’s risen evermore. No more He’ll die.

Defeated now, death’s stranglehold on man.

Through death, has death been overcome, to lie

In ruins at the cross, where life’s its ban.

================================

He’s risen now above. He’s heaven’s Lord.

In victory He’s at the Father’s side.

All earth and heaven witness He’s adored,

And praises rise from His redemption’s Bride.

================================

He’s risen for His own. Those ones who fled -

Confused and frightened men who left Him there.

His Shepherd’s heart to perfect peace He led,

To comfort them in sorrow with His care.

================================

He’s risen - first fruits is. Initial yield.

One day will follow Him all who are saved;

In whom eternal life with God is sealed,

To speed the golden pathway that He paved.

================================

He’s risen - gone before. His own He serves

In resurrection power - the contrite;

Those saints who now will wait upon His words,

“I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
