[116]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – HAVING A CHAT WITH GOD
There is nothing pretentious here. It is a simple prayer mixed with thoughts of the Lord. This poem is a meditation, one that I hope you can relate to in your life.
Some make prayer a sanctimonious affair and it is about as dead as a dinosaur bone. Prayer should be speaking just as you do to a friend, even silent desires and prayer in thought, for the Lord knows our inner being. I have taken 3 lines from the poem.
“I love You, Lord, my righteous King.” – {{1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”}}
“God’s love and grace are paramount,” – {{2 Thessalonians 2:16 “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,”}}
“From Jesus Christ there comes great hope,” – {{Titus 3:7 “that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”}}

HAVING A CHAT WITH GOD
I love You, Lord, for what You’ve done,
For mercy shown, and victory won.
Your sacrifice on my behalf,
Has put me right, and on God’s path.
============================
From man alone, no help proceeds;
Not in man’s words, or through man’s deeds,
For man is flawed, the sons of sin –
He ‘s just evil from outside in.
============================
God’s love and grace are paramount,
That flow from Christ, the living Fount;
The One through ev’ry trial sustains,
So at that Fount, our health remains.
============================
From Jesus Christ there comes great hope,
That makes us firm in life to cope;
And after life, heaven awaits,
For to us all, the Lord relates.
============================
Speak to me, Lord, I want to hear
Words of comfort; words that endear.
In all things, blessed Lord of my soul,
You saved my life; You’ve made me whole.
============================
I love You, Lord, my righteous King.
To You, I owe everything.
Soon You’ll return; I’ll see Your face;
Then realise more, Your selfless grace.
