[032] A MESSAGE FROM A POEM – BEFORE THE LORD WE ARE HIS
To start with I want to say that all my poems are copyright in the sense that I own them and don’t want them altered without permission. All my poems God gave and therefore can be used in your ministry or for your enjoyment. I wish the Lord to bless them.
This poem is a shorter one for me, but it speaks of something special to me. Although the title does not suggest it, it is mainly about the rapture of the Church. The idea is that those before the Lord and are His, are His own redeemed who will either rise with new bodies (those fallen asleep) or mortal puts on immortality (those still living) when He comes to take us home.
{{1 Corinthians 15:51-54 “Behold, I tell you a mystery. WE SHALL NOT ALL SLEEP, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. THIS PERISHABLE MUST PUT ON THE IMPERISHABLE, AND THIS MORTAL MUST PUT ON IMMORTALITY, but when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory.”}}
The poem means a lot to me, and this is the beauty of poetry. Some poems or stanzas of poems appeal to some people, while other parts appeal to different people.
I have incorporated some of the titles of the Lord Jesus – Lord, Christ, Jesus, King, Lamb, Saviour and Substitute.
{{Philippians 3:20 “Our citizenship is in heaven from which also we eagerly wait for A SAVIOUR, the Lord Jesus Christ who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.”}} That is a powerful verse.
{{Revelation 19:16 On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”}}
============================================================
BEFORE THE LORD WE ARE HIS
It won’t be long before He comes;
A mighty meeting in the air,
Co-joined with those who’ve gone ahead;
They come with Christ from their place there.
===============================
And in the twinkling of an eye
The Lord descends to take His Bride;
A mighty instant gathering,
Called from the world, and to His side.
===============================
We leave this earth, now so distressed,
To dwell with Jesus, fully owned;
Forever to be with our King;
To praise the Lord, the Lamb enthroned.
===============================
He took my sins and made them His.
He bore the curse of that for me.
My Substitute, impelled by love,
Released my bonds, and set me free.
===============================
Now our Saviour, our blessed Lord,
Instil in us this attitude,
That we will always thankful be,
To lift our hearts in gratitude.
