[011] A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
Stanza 1 - Psalm 54:1-4
Stanza 2 - Psalm 56:3-4
Stanza 3 - Psalm 50:15,23
Stanza 4 - Psalm 55:22
This poem of four stanzas has a stanza dedicated to each of four verses in the Psalms. I love the Psalms and at times of great distress and turmoil in my life, the Psalms have been the solid rock to help anchor faith.
David and others wrote this collection of songs for the temple worship and reflection on a believer’s personal walk. No matter what your problem is, there is always an answer in the Psalms, for David especially went through all sorts of emotions and experiences and with those we can identify.
Great verses of praise and worship can be found. Great verses of help can be found. Great verses of guidance can be found. If you wanted to you can add 10 more of these great finds in the Psalms; even more.
This poem was written after thinking about the help the Lord had given me. Our Lord is great.
A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
Save me by Your name, O LORD;
Vindicate my way by strength.
Hear my prayer’s ascent to You,
O my God, faithful and true.
God, the Helper of my soul,
Will sustain my life - the whole.
He has noted those my foes -
Recompense from Him will flow.
============================
When your heart becomes afraid,
Firmly place your trust in God:-
God, whose word you ought to praise;
God whose Name you ought to raise.
What can mere man do to you -
Mortal man whose days are few?
Men are in God’s full control
They can not break through the bounds.
============================
In the day of trouble, call.
Reach to God your present help.
Marvellous things for you He’ll do;
He’s the One who’ll rescue you.
Guides you in the path that’s straight;
Shows to you salvation great.
Honour God whose strength is known.
Honour your Deliverer.
============================
Cast your burden on the LORD.
This, the word of God would plead.
He sustains you in His love;
Sends His mercies from above.
Lets His own not shaken be.
To the LORD, in trials then flee.
Comfort more you’ll never find.
Christ your Lord is always near.
