YOU CHOOSE? YOUR CHOICES WILL CONTROL THE OUT GOING AND IN
COMING
120 years ago there was a family moving from Georgetown to Johnstown.
A new opportunity farming was before them. So they loaded up their
covered wagon, hitched up the horses, said farewell and away they went.
The journey from Georgetown to Johnstown was a long journey by horse and
wagon. They they traveled from early morning until near sunset.
They asked a farmer permission to spend the night on his land.
They set their gear up and the farmer asked them if they would eat with
his family. They struck up a friendship and the kids played together and
the adults visited. The family really appreciated the farmers kindness.
They said: THIS IS THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME.
The Father and Mother asked the farmer:
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE LIKE IN JOHNSTOWN?
The farmer replied: WHAT WERE THE PEOPLE IN GEORGETOWN LIKE?
The young man answered: THEY WERE WONDERFUL.
OUR PASTOR WAS A MIGHTY MAN OF GOD.
WE LOVED OUR CHURCH AND NEIGHBORS. WE HATE TO MOVE AWAY.
Then the family said: WELL, YOU WILL FIND THE PEOPLE IN JOHNSTOWN
ARE WONDERFUL AND SWEET AND YOU WILL FIND A GREAT LIFE FOR
YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN JOHNSTOWN.
A few days later, the farmer was sitting on his porch and a man climbed
down from his wagon and sought permission for them to camp on his
farm. The farmer told them they were welcome to stay, and he invited them
to eat with them. The family set up their sleeping gear under the wagon.
And approached the farm house. The man told his wife, THESE PEOPLE
THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN US. I CAN SMELL BURNT BISCUITS!
They sat down at the table and the man complained they didn’t like fried
chicken. The farmer inquired: WHERE are YOU FROM? WHERE are YOU GOING?
The visitor said: MY ARE YOU NOSEY?
The man went on to say: WE ARE MOVING FROM FROM JOHNSTOWN TO
GEOrgETOWN.
As they were discussing the move, the traveler had a question: HAVE YOU HEARD
WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE IN GEORGETOWN.
The farmer inquired, WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WERE THEY IN JOHNSTOWN.
The man raised his voice and said: THEY WERE MEANING. EVERYONE MADE
FUN OF MY KIDS. WE DID NOT GO TO CHURCH THEY WERE ALL HYPOCRITes.
MY NEIGHBORS MADE UP LIES about OUR FAMILY. WE HATED EVERYONE.
WE COULD NOT WAIT TO LEAVE THAT DUMB O’ TOWN.
The farmer replied to the traveler: YOU WILL FIND PEOPLE IN GEORGETOWN
TO BE MEAN HYPOCRITes.
The traveler looked at his wife and said: I KNEW IT, I JUST GUESSED THAT
GEORGETOWN PEOPLE WERE UglY AND MEAN. WHEN WE GET SETTLED
IN I THINK WE SHALL LOOK FOR A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE THAN
GEORGETOWN...

Certainly no one in recent history has been more of an example of “Christ transforming Culture” than Martin Luther King, Jr. In his book Strength to Love, he wrote: “The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must ...read more

‘Choice’ is something that begins with God. God chose to keep the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the center of garden, so there was no chance of Adam & Eve missing it. And God passed on this gift of choice to mankind. The choices that we make in our everyday life determine our future.

Get Out Of Your Feelings

Emotional people make big mistakes when they base decisions on how they feel rather than obeying God and what they know is the right thing to do. We have to learn how to live beyond our feelings and do what is right even when we feel we have been wronged.
