ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

Mahatma Gandhi, popularly known as the ’Father of the Nation, India also known as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869, and died on January 30, 1948. Gandhi was a great freedom fighter who played a significant role in achieving independence for India from the British by following the path of non-violence. According to him, one should have strong willpower and simplicity and two essential virtues non-violence and truth. His entire philosophy of life sums up in his statement where he said: "The only virtue I want to claim is truth and non-violence."

Once Gandhi was arrested and kept in Yeravada, prison. Prison’s chief came to see Gandhi in his prison room. After he went, Gandhi took a bucket of water and washed the floor. Another friend of Gandhi seeing his act asked him why he was doing so. Gandhi answered. The officer entered with boots and the room became full of mud. The friend asked "Why didn’t you ask him to remove the shoes and enter the room?" Gandhi said, "He should have known this. Anyway, I should be thankful to him. He gave me an opportunity to clean the room, which was dirty since days."

Always keep in mind that, no matter what happens, you have the power to decide what to think about it. You can decide whether to be distracted or to stay focused. You can decide whether to be insulted or to be amused. You can decide whether to get drawn into a no-win situation or to continue working toward the goals you’ve set for yourself. The way you think about the world around you, makes an enormous difference in the quality of your life. So stay in control of your attitude and make that life the best it can be.

Jesus said "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. (Matthew 7:12NLT)
