WHEN EVERYTHING CRUMBLES

September 11th is one of those moments frozen in time. It is one of those moments that everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. When the first plane struck the tower at 8:45am, it was a moment that would reshape the fabric of life and transform the framework of history.

September 11th will live as one of the greatest tragedies to strike our nation. The events of that day changed the fabric of our society. Those events and those changes are part of what cannot be forgotten.

We cannot forget the lives that were lost on that dreadful day and we cannot forget the lives of those who have been forever changed. We cannot forget the widows who are raising children alone. We cannot forget the parents who will never hold their children again. We cannot forget the heroism shown by ordinary people who rose to the occasion in extraordinary ways. There is power in remembering. There is strength in the memory of where we have been, how far we have come and where we are going.

The psalmist reminds of times like these. Psalm 11:3 says this: What can an honest person do when everything crumbles? CEV
