FORGIVENESS QUOTATIONS

The late great English religious writer and philanthropist, Hannah More (1745 - 1833) once said: "Forgiveness is the economy of the heart...forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits."

The late great American Protestant theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr (1892 - 1971) once wrote: "Forgiveness is the final form of love."

The late great Reformed theologian, Christian author, and ethicist, Lewis Benedictus Smedes (1921 - 2002) once wrote: "You will know that forgiveness has begun when you recall those who hurt you and feel the power to wish them well."

The late great art critic, sage writer, and social critic, John Ruskin (1819 - 1900), once wrote: "You will find it less easy to uproot faults, than to choke them by gaining virtues. Do not think of your faults: still less of others' faults; in every person who comes near you look for what is good and strong: honor that; rejoice in it; and, as you can. try to imitate it; and your faults will drop off, like dead leaves, when their time comes."
