Arthur John Gossip was a great preacher in the Church of Scotland. When he was pastor at Beechgrove Church in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1927 he suddenly lost his beloved wife. The following Sunday he preached perhaps the greatest sermon of the Twentieth Century “When Life Tumbles In, What Then?” His faith held steady during that crisis. The Word of God sustains and encourages us “When Life Tumbles In.” Jesus reminds us in John 16:33, “I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!” His promises are our hope and encouragement in time of trouble.
