Howard Hendricks a Bible College professor, tells of the time they had a guest over for dinner and his 4 year old son prayed at the table. He said, "God, make this food easy to eat and protect the fence in the back yard. Jesus name, Amen." The guest said afterwards, "The food part I understand, but protect the fence?" Hendricks said, "Oh, it makes a lot of sense when you know that the meanest, baddest dog in the whole neighborhood lives on the other side of our fence!” So everyday my 4 year old prays, "Dear Jesus, please protect the fence in the back yard."
