A. He's Closer Than You Think. Gen. 1:1 "In ...
Contributed by Jeffrey Dillinger on May 26, 2007 (message contributor)
A. He’s Closer Than You Think. Gen. 1:1 “In the beginning GOD!” That is a wow statement. God began us, created us. In the days of creation he waited until the last thing to create was mankind. God created Adam and Eve and it was like these two chairs right next to each other. But then Eve and Adam sin. When that happened death, physical and spiritual came into the world. It was a separation of man and God. (move God’s chair to other side). But God is closer than you think.
B. He began to move closer as the talked to Fathers, like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (move chair a little closer) Then God drew even closer through Moses and the priesthood and temple worship. (move chair even closer). That was not enough. God came closer yet. He came in the flesh, born as a baby and called Immanuel, which means “God with us.” (put the two chairs next to each other again). God is closer than you think.
C. When we become a Christian, God moves even closer. When I give my life to Christ, He lives IN me. (put the two chairs on top of each other). In Christ, God is much closer than you think.
