When attendees at a drunk-driving "awareness picnic" saw a woman being given a field sobriety test by police, they gathered around to watch the "demonstration." It wasn’t a demonstration: a police officer saw Linda M. Harris, 53, the coordinator of the Dona Ana County (N.M.) drunken-driving prevention program, drive up, and he smelled alcohol on her breath.
