John Eldridge’s book The Ransomed Heart says that we have the wrong idea when we hammer at sin. He says that we are clean, that we are forgiven, and that we are no longer sinners. Well, we are clean, we are forgiven, but we remain sinners under the wrath of God with natures that are not yet fully redeemed. Romans 7 deals with this in detail; Paul said "Woe is me. What am I to do with this body of sin?"
