Lost Trust: Recent research by Yankelovich finds that the determining factor in building trust is the history and quality of interaction between consumer and marketer. They have found that 66% of American consumers agree with the following statement: “If the opportunity arises, most businesses will take advantage of the public if they feel they are not likely to be found out.” 15 years ago only 54% agreed with the statement.
