Puppy Story Concerning Martin Luther
Contributed by J Jeffrey Smead on Dec 1, 2025 (message contributor)
The Great theologian Martin Luther ... had visitors for dinner one day.
His puppy ... happened to be at the table, ... looking for just a morsel ... from his master hand.
The puppy watched motionless with open mouth and eyes widened in anticipation.
Martin Luther said, "Oh, if I could only pray ... the way this dog ... watches the meat!
All his thoughts are concentrated ... on the piece of meat.
Otherwise, ... he has no thought, wish or hope. (Pause)
Without Christ, ... we would have no hope.
