[215]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - HIS PRECIOUS REDEEMED ONES

In my messages and sermons, sometimes I raise the plight of suffering Christians enduring persecution such as we observe in many nations in Africa. It makes me think of these suffering ones and how the Lord views them.

They are precious, for the Lord redeemed them, and He owns them and they will be His ransomed ones for all of eternity. With those thoughts in mind I wrote this poem, half around June and the remainder on 23 September 2025.

Here are some thoughts from the poem with connected bible verses.

PRECIOUS – The proof of the preciousness of God’s creation to Himself is seen in the sacrifice of Christ. {{2 Peter 1:4 “By these He has granted to us HIS PRECIOUS AND MAGNIFICENT PROMISES in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”}}

REDEEMED – Redemption is buying back again that which had an original ownership. Satan destroyed and alienated God’s creation but the Lord purchased it again. {{1 Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not REDEEMED with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless - THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.”}}

VICTORS – We are equipped to be victors in living the Christian life. In Jesus Christ we have the victory. {{1 John 5:4 “Whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and THIS IS THE VICTORY that has overcome the world - our faith.”}}

PUT TO DEATH – Those who belong to the Lord are opposed by the enemies of the faith and some are killed for their faith. {{Revelation 2:10-11 “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. BE FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH, AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE CROWN OF LIFE. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”}}

THE GRAIN OF WHEAT – Jesus is the grain of wheat that fell into the ground producing a huge harvest. Through His death He has produced all the members of His Church. {{John 12:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, UNLESS A GRAIN OF WHEAT falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit.”}}

HIS PRECIOUS REDEEMED ONES

Jesus has gained a harvest of souls:

His precious, redeemed ones.

His love eternal, each one enfolds,

To keep His ransomed sons.

=====================

I am united with Christ, my Lord

And washed from sin and shame.

With all in Christ, God sees me unflawed.

Jesus removed my blame.

=====================

Mighty army of God advances,

And homeward they all press.

Our expectations, God enhances,

And continues to bless.

=====================

Grain of Wheat, the sacrifice for me;

For sin, the price He paid.

Harvest of souls for heaven to see;

The foundation He laid.

=====================

With Jesus today, past believers

Are at rest in Christ’s arms.

These ones in God’s strength are achievers,

Now delivered from harm.

=====================

Those who fought the great fight and won through –

They’re victors in the Lord.

These dear saints of God whose love was true,

Enjoy their just reward.

=====================

In what measure can we know God’s love?

We know only in part.

Love reigns supreme in heaven above.

We’re in the Saviour’s heart.

=====================

Some precious, redeemed ones are dying;

Murdered by men of hate.

But in heaven, there is no crying,

And to joy they all relate.

=====================

Jesus has gathered His precious ones

Into the Church, His Bride;

The Household of God; daughters and sons,

Where all His saints abide.

=====================

All praise and glory be to the Lord

From those he has redeemed;

Sinners once, now on board -

Now by Christ’s blood are cleaned.

=====================

Life is fulfilled; the future is sure

As part of God’s dear Flock.

If you are unsaved, we do implore

You anchor to the Rock.
