Don't Let The Sun Confuse You
Contributed by Tim White on Mar 10, 2025 (message contributor)
When Laura and I were blessed with a gift of a cruise, we had a blast. On the way back from the western Caribbean, we opened the cabin curtains to watch another sunset. But, there was no sun. I checked the television station that had mapped our trek and displayed our current location. The cruise ship had turned a 180-degree change in direction.
As a novelist, I was concerned. My imagination was running wild. So, while Laura prepped for dinner, I went out to investigate. Pirates? Someone overboard? It almost had to be an emergency for a cruise ship to suddenly change courses. I asked workers and security guards. Most of them looked at me, puzzled, and checked out the location of the sun. Most said, "I have no idea, but I will find out." Confident that someone would get to the bottom of this mystery, I started for my room. I stopped at a concession stand that should have been facing the sun (west). I mentioned to the worker the conundrum. He quickly responded, "We didn't turn around." I replied, "Sure we did. The sun should be in your face right now. We were heading north with the west on our left. Now we are heading south with the sun on our right." His reply was classic, the mantra of a godless world. "Oh, don't pay attention to the sun. It will only confuse you." Have you ever told someone about the Son, and you received a similar response?
