Matthew 24 Is Knocking On Our Door!
Contributed by Dr. Larry Petton on Apr 6, 2024 (message contributor)
In Matthew 24, Jesus provides insights into the signs of His return and the end times. Let’s explore some of these significant signs:
False Christs and Deception:
Many will come claiming to be the Messiah (Christ), deceiving people. Jesus warns against being misled by such false claims.
Wars and Rumors of Wars: Nations will rise against each other, leading to conflicts and unrest.
Natural Disasters:
There will be famines, earthquakes, and other natural calamities in various places. These events signal the approaching end.
Persecution and Apostasy:
Believers will face tribulation, hatred, and even martyrdom because of their faith in Jesus. Some will fall away from the faith.
False Prophets will rise, misleading many with their teachings.
Lawlessness and Cold Love:
As lawlessness increases, people’s love will grow cold. This decline in compassion and empathy is a sign of the times.
The Gospel Preached Worldwide: The good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world as a testimony to all nations. Then the end will come.
The Abomination of Desolation:
Jesus refers to Daniel’s prophecy about an abomination of desolation standing in the holy place. This event signifies a significant turning point.
Great Tribulation:
A time of unprecedented tribulation will occur, unlike anything seen before. God will intervene for the sake of His elect.
False Signs and Wonders:
False christs and prophets will perform miraculous signs to deceive, even if possible, the elect. Jesus forewarns His followers.
