The Budding Of The Fig Tree
Contributed by Dr. Larry Petton on Oct 16, 2023 (message contributor)
Luke 21 records the parable of the Budding of the Fig Tree by Jesus. This parable is interpreted by many evangelical writers as a reference to the Regathering of Israel as prophesied by Ezekiel 38. It happened in 1948 as the nation was re-born miraculously as we prepare for the return of Christ.
If this budding of the fig tree is actually the regathering of Israel, remember that Jesus said "this generation" that sees this happen will also see the coming of the Son of Man.
The question is, how long is a generation in biblical terms? Upon further review, we see that a generation in Scripture can usually be 20 years, 40 years or 80 years. If the generation is 80 years here and if this is the correct biblical interpretation of the budding of the fig tree.....then the Rapture of the Church and the Return of Christ may be much closer than we think.
Are you ready for the return of Christ?
Is there unfinished business in your life?
Do you have lost family and friends who are not ready to meet Christ?
