The year was 1999 and George Barna just wrapped up his latest study on the status of the Worldview of American adults. He was shocked to discover that only 12% of American adults were living their life with a Biblical worldview. He knew that if this trend did not change then it would mean a rapid decline in morality, ethics, and faith in our country so God compelled him to write the book, Think Like Jesus, to help churches understand how to train and equip Christians with a strong and vibrant Biblical worldview. Fast forward to the year 2020, Barna now wrapped up a follow-up study to check on the status of modern Christians and the worldview they were implementing in life. Sadly, Barna discovered that Americans had not responded to the warning he issued 20 years earlier and now only 6% of American adults lived life with a Biblical Worldview. He understood that if this trend continued then authentic Christianity in our country would lose ground even more and many individuals would never come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Barna in conjunction with the "Cultural Research Center" began to release studies on a regular basis for churches to understand the current situation Christians were facing in our country. As the pandemic hit in 2020, it proved to be an added challenge in equipping Americans with a strong Biblical Worldview, and in February of 2023 the "Cultural Research Center" released the first national study of Americans’ worldview in the post-lockdown era and they found that the number of American adults that lived with a Biblical worldview had declined to a mere 4% in three years.

Jesus Christ gave His disciples this command that is more relevant for modern-day Christians than at any other time in our history as Christ declares, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) As Christians, let us be resolved to become workers in the harvest field of today and continually pray for God to raise up more Christians to reach more people for Christ.
