Don't End Your Life --- Start It All Over Again!
Contributed by Dr. Larry Petton on Apr 7, 2022 (message contributor)
A student at Penn State University went out on a ledge of a tall building on campus and threatened to take her life by jumping off. The campus chaplain was called in to bring calmness while awaiting the emergency team from nearby.
When the chaplain found the young woman, her threats seemed very valid. She was suicidal and ready to end it all. The chaplain thought of every way he knew to connect with her, but to no avail.
Finally, the chaplain said, “Do you see that building across the street? That is a hospital. You can actually see into the maternity ward of the hospital where brand new babies are being born every day. Wouldn’t you like to be one of those brand new babies and start your life all over again?
“Of course! But it is way to late for that. There is no hope for me” she cried out.
The chaplain spoke gently and said, “No, it’s not too late. You can start a new life right now and be just like one of those newborn babies in the hospital. Invite Jesus into your life right now and let Him give you His life, His strength and His peace, and you will be born again.”
The young woman came down from the ledge and trusted Christ as her Savior. She became a brand new creation instantly!
