An Unsung Hero
Contributed by Richard L. Brown on Nov 7, 2021 (message contributor)
When I was a boy there was a cartoon about a character called Hector Heathcote…….It was based on the colonial days of America and the Revolutionary War. The character Heathcote was always the unsung hero in each show. I remember one episode where General George Washington was preparing for his famous Crossing of the Delaware River in the middle of the night to surprise attack the British. In the cartoon Washington’s boat developed a hole in the bottom. Heathcote came to the rescue by swimming along side the boat in the freezing water while plugging the hole with his finger Hector saved the day, but no one knew his act of valor. That is an unsung Hero.
