Saint Or Sinner

In the “Freedom in Christ” course, Neil Anderson and Steve Goss, share an illustration that I just love –
“You know the fairy tale of the princess who decided to kiss a frog? When she kissed the frog, he changes into a handsome prince. Now imagine they go out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate and suddenly a fly starts to buzz around the table. The prince leaps out of his chair and catches the fly with his tongue. Does this frog-like behavior make him a frog again? No, he’s still a prince. He just acting like a frog. That’s how it is when we sin as Christians. It doesn’t mean we have gone back to being sinners. We are still saints. We’re just acting like sinners.”

The background for this parable is that multitudes of publicans and sinners came to hear the Lord Jesus. The Pharisees and scribes began to murmur, to criticize Him because of this. They were shocked that He would welcome them and even eat with them.
