Inherited Sin
Contributed by James Dina on Sep 7, 2020 (message contributor)
INHERITED SIN
The punishment of sin does not always rest in him that committed the sin. The bitter fruits of sin are often transmitted, and handed over to those who had no present hand in them when they were committed. The whole family may inherit the sins of their progenitors, long after they have gone. When the father purchases or provides an inheritance for his child by flattery, or any other indirect way, the eyes of his children may fail for it.
(“He who speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children will fail” JOB 17:5)

Compliments
Contributed by Kyle Campbell on Jan 19, 2022
Flattery is excessive and insincere praise, given especially to further one’s own interests. Proverbs 26:28 says that “a flattering mouth works ruin.” Compliments, on the other hand, are a genuine appreciation of something or someone — and this is the power to build and sustain others.
