A cartoon when I was a kid showed a group of aliens called Meeks who came to earth and said they only existed to serve others and wanted to give everyone the desires of their heart. The world voted to allow them to do it and everyone only had to ask and it was done. With no work to do humans became fat and weak. When they reached a certain stage the Meeks showed their true colors. They turned out to be cannibals and were set to devour the population. The Twilight Zone also did a story like this. To Serve Man, which turned out to be a cookbook.

The moral of the story was “Beware of Meeks bearing gifts” as a pun on the saying about Greeks that stemmed from the Trojan horse. The moral can go much deeper.

God says that the meek shall inherit the earth, but not like the cartoon Meeks. Satan appears with his offer to give you the desires of your heart and people take it. As it is obvious by the condition of the world the desires of the human heart are wicked and destructive. (Jer_17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?) Pro 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

In the end, people will see that satan is a devouring lion seeking to destroy their soul like the Meeks but then it will too late for some. 1Pe_5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

You see the story very clearly duplicates a biblical prophecy and the character of satan but perverts it enough so that the truth cannot be seen and makes a joke of it. If I were to tell other people the truth they would remember the cartoon and laugh it off. The end of the story was no joke and the only one laughing at the end of the age will be satan if we do not see his deceptions and return to the truth and seek salvation from Jesus Christ. Then you can laugh at satan when he is tossed into the Lake of Fire! Maranatha!!!
