Where Did That Come From?
Contributed by Rick Palmer on Oct 21, 2018 (message contributor)
As a Police Officer we were required to use radar to influence drivers to slow down and obey the laws. One evening I parked at a T-intersection where Main Street intersected a major highway. This intersection was very well lite up because of the businesses located there, a restaurant with a gas station and a used car lot running along the highway. Within the car lot was a vacant spot in the line of cars parked at the highways edge. I choose too park my cruiser in that spot. I had the advantage to observe Main Street and the 4 lane highway. While sitting in plain sight of every vehicle I was able to make many contacts with fellow citizens that had their minds focused on other things.
Luke 14:23 “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
When we approach people with the message of Jesus Christ it may take them by total surprise as their minds are focused on other things.
1 Peter 2:12 “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.”
1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
John 15:19 “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
Colossians 3:1 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
We must take them from whatever is consuming their mind to God’s truth.
Galatians 3:23 “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”
1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
John 16:8”8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
We can live an open Christ honoring, God fearing life. We can love all the people and point them to Jesus Christ yet many people we know will be surprised when we talk to them about Jesus on the cross.
We can hide in plain sight and they will be oblivious to us.
