About William
  • Education: The best education is from practical experience living with people that have added wonderful moments to my life. Doctrate in Theology, Masters in Religious Education, Bachelors in Business and Religious Education, and an Associate Degree In Biblical Studies.
  • Experience: Pastor for the past sixteen years. Part time Evangelist Children’s Worker before that.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: If you can use anything I have written, I would be honored. I am really a very introverted shy person. God has changed me so that I can Pastor the way that I do.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Living in the WORLD but not being part of it W - Wisdom O - Obedience R - Reliance on God L - Love D - Diligence
  • One of my favorite illustrations: My favorite illustration is really an object lesson involving a baby bib and an apron. There are too many Christians still wearing the bib saying feed me. More Christians should pitch the bib and put on an apron - Oh you still get to eat with an apron on but you do some of the serving too.
  • Family: Dottie is my beautiful wife of 30 years. We have two grown daughters Leona and Lynnette. Leona is married to Toby and they have given us our first grandchild, Lydia Faith. Lynnette is engaged to be married in May of 2002. We vacation often in Florida where Tpby, Leona, and Lydia make their home. Our church family is awesome too. we have many friends in our ministry that we just consider family.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are both with the Lord but I know they would realize that much of what I preach is a reflection of who God made me to be through my parents and heritage.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: We often prepare messages together and she gives me many ideas and sermon illustrations. Dottie thinks often of a time before we were called into the ministry. She cannot believe how God has used plain ole us to speak the wisdom of God.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.
  • Books that have had an impact: Holy Bible - Handfuls of Purpose Commentary Developing the Leader Within You - Maxwell
  • Hobbies: Illusions, puppetry, ventiloquism, fishing, hunting
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I have lived a good life as a Christian. It has been full and abundant, just as Jesus promised. If there were no rewards, even if there were no heaven, I’d want to live the same Christian life. But there are rewards and there is heaven.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: In my early preaching years I preached from a platform that had portable stairs. I often would walk to these stairs and step down so that I could be closer to the audience. One Sunday someone had moved the stairs to the other end of the platform. When I stepped down as I normally would in the normal location of the stairs, I really stepped down!
  • What I want on my tombstone: God made all the difference in this life gone Home
