About Tony
  • Education: Studied at the College of Biblical Studies, Maximized Life Bible Training Institute and received the Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Christian Bible Institute and Seminary. Ordained in 2002 and licensed in 1997.
  • Experience: Conducted Bible Study for over 2 years at the Star of Hope Women's and Children's Center in Houston. President of the North Channel Assistance Ministries 2005-2010, a Food Bank and clothing provider. Since 2004 lead a contingent of volunteers [6] in providing spiritual uplift weekly at two local nursing and rehab centers
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Please forgive any misspellings and grammatically errant drifts, as I believe the Lord has made His point with the ministry He has given to me. I was one of the <10 children chosen to integrate our schools in the early 60's. There was only one black high school and one white. My class had 736 students and I was chosen as student choir director and was also tapped to direct the graduating class in singing the school song. these activities helped prepare me for this ministry.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Which side of the cross are you on?
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Life can be divided into two categories; gnats and camels. Pay more attention to the camels!
  • Family: Married for 40 years [Lynda] with two children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Not applicable
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I'm not really sure, except she is my best supporter of the ministry we conduct weekly and seems to think that I can produce an effective message without preparation.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: You cannot feed a horse and ride him at the same time!
  • Books that have had an impact: Audacity of Hope; Colin Powell
  • Hobbies: Bowling; Golf; Fishing
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: One does not need life to be fair to be or become successful. One simply needs life...appreciate where you are and make the necessary changes from there.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I mispronounced "breath" while reading a passage in church service [breast].
  • What I want on my tombstone: Don't waste time visiting. Like Jesus, I ain't here!
